SLIDE PREPARATION

Please use the following guidelines when creating your presentation:

  • No Disclosure Slide: Please do NOT include a disclosure slide in your presentation. SNO will create a disclosure slide for you, based on the disclosure form that we have on file. If you feel you need to update your disclosure form, please contact MeLesa Buchanan at melesa@soc-neuro-onc.org no later than the respective due date detailed in your email.
  • General Guidelines: Consider no more than 1 - 2 slides for each minute of presentation time. Please work to make your slides easy to read, using sharply contrasting text on your chosen background. Select a font and size that will be easily readable and ensure that each slide does not contain so much data/images/pictures that it is confusing or overwhelming for the viewer.
  • Template: There is not a meeting-specific template that you must use.
  • Format: We will only accept slides in PowerPoint (.ppt or .pptx). If you are using Apple/Keynote, you will need to convert your presentation to PowerPoint prior to submitting your slides.
  • Ratio: 16:9
  • Presenter View: This will not be available, please plan accordingly.
  • File Naming: Maximum of 50 characters. Please use this file naming convention: Day of Presentation and Last Name (i.e. Thu-Nov-8-Doe).
  • Videos: Embed your video within your presentation and bring a backup of your video as a separate file on your USB drive. Internet will not be available onsite at the podium.
  • Animations/Transitions: Ensure that your presentation does NOT have a preset timer to advance slides.
  • Images: Do not use logos for any ineligible companies, including logos on slides, company names on machines, laboratory equipment, test tubes, or in acknowledgement slides.
